It’s an old rock structure known as a Calaboose, and it is haunted with spirits. Heavenly craft-brewed beer and wine, to be exact.

Amazingly fresh and delicious! Perfect for lunch or dinner. Everything is cooked to order, takes roughly ten minutes. This is a take out only place. I was home in 10 minutes and the food was still hot and delicious. The staff is friendly. The order was correct. If you get Fajitas, you may want to order more tortillas because you only get two with the meal.

I grew up in Charlotte, NC, and was lucky enough to have Pasta & Provisions in my neighborhood. As a child I was amazed by the fact that when you stopped by, you always saw people making things. This wasn’t food made by machines in a drab factory somewhere far away. It was made with a lot of pride by people in my neighborhood. I moved to Boone to attend Appalachian State, and started working at Stick Boy Bread Company. I noticed many of the same things that I had seen at Pasta & Provisions-that same commitment to quality, from the ingredients to the methods to caliber of the staff. It seemed logical that a town that loved pastries and great bread could use a pasta shop! Next came sandwiches, craft beer, and fine wine. I thought everything was set….until the space next door to us became available. A casual mention to two friends who had been thinking of opening a brewery led to us becoming the tasting room for Booneshine Brewing Company. On July 1, 2015 we poured the first pint of Booneshine IPA! Booneshine has since moved on to a much larger space, needing more room to produce fresh craft beer.

Paul Alcazar and Jocelyn Yost are the owners and operators of Bodegas, and you can often find one of them in the restaurant at any given time. Paul’s father was from Cuba, and Paul had a great love and appreciation for Cuban food while he was growing up. Paul had always dreamed of opening his own restaurant, and when he and Jocelyn discovered Banner Elk, and the recently renovated Eagles Nest Marketplace, they decided to take the plunge and open Bodegas. He has now turned his dream into a reality, and Bodegas is loved by locals and visitors alike.

Boone Saloon was born from a desperate need for a watering-hole that was geared for full grown adults. Sure the college kids would come – we are a college town after all. But, we needed a comfortable, clean place where conversation was revered, quality service and food was appreciated, and style was a heavy consideration.

We started with an old white oak tree that we carved out to be the 25 foot, live edge, bar. Then we tore down all the sheetrock and drop ceilings, ripped up the carpet, and let the building show itself. After we built the stage, built an outside covered deck and added our GameChanger Arcade we were ready to go.

Each weekend we feature FRESH specials that highlight seasonal offerings from our local food purveyors and unique flavors of our chef’s culinary creativity.

At FRESH we offer an alternative to the processed food delivery system that has become the staple of the modern diet. Before we packed up and left our home in New York, we had been head chefs at two of the highest-rated restaurants in the Hamptons on the eastern end of Long Island, Robert’s in Watermill and World Pie in Bridgehampton.  Yet, all the while that we were running our respective kitchens, we kept a small fire burning for the dream of opening our own idea of a great restaurant someday.  Our plan was to find the most promising, picturesque town in the country, where the people were varied, smart, good-looking, and hungry for the kind of genuine culinary thing we do.

From our humble beginnings in 2012 as beer lovers with a home brew setup, some mason jars, and a lot of zany friends, a culture of absolute foolery and serious chillness grew. We have kept everything original to the house as much as possible, which means our space is very unique and smaller than most restaurants you’ve probably been to – our kitchen is smaller than most residential kitchens! With such limited space, we run things a bit differently to be sure that you have a great time here! We are counter-service with waitstaff, so you order and pay at the counter BEFORE finding a table where we will serve you! Having everyone order and pay first means that our limited number of tables are not held up waiting for orders to be taken or checks to be brought out, so even if we are very busy, there WILL be a table available by the time you have ordered. Operating this way, it is very rare that we should ever have to wait for a table to open. For this reason we ask that you please do not reserve tables while the rest of your party is in line.

The first Macado’s restaurant was opened in 1978 by Richard Macher in downtown Roanoke, Virginia. It soon became popular for its eclectic ambiance of cartoon, antique, and local nostalgic decor, as well as its wide array of hearty yet modestly-priced sandwiches, subs, and entrees.

Popular with the college crowd, the restaurant opened additional locations near Virginia Tech, Radford University, and Roanoke College. Locations were added at the rate of one or two per year, including those in neighboring West Virginia, North Carolina and Tennessee.

Macado’s just recently opened its newest location in Winchester, Virginia.

The already-lengthy menu has been changed and expanded over the years, and several events have grown in popularity, such as the Macado’s Annual St. Patrick’s Day Party and the Macado’s Halloween Party. Loyal customers have made Macado’s part of their own traditions as well!

Maggie B’s is Weaverville’s first ever wine and specialty food store.   But, despite what most people think, Maggie B is not the owner. She is actually Elspeth and Andy’s 13-year old, yellow Labrador retriever. In her honor, we do offer dog parking outside, refreshments (water bowl), and doggie treats. So, if you’re just walking around downtown Weaverville, or getting ready to take your pooch on a hike, stop in and grab some treats for yourself and your four legged friend!

Maggie B’s sells wine, beer, meats, cheeses, wine accessories, and a little of everything else.  Sandwiches, salads, soup, and small plates are offered daily.  They also offer a great selection of wine and beer by the glass.  We carry wines from smaller vineyards that you are not going to find at the grocery store. The wines are from all over the world: South Africa, Argentina, France, New Zealand, and more. You will also find a wide selection of organic wines, which can be beneficial for people who have problems with the preservatives in wine.

In our deli cooler we have Sunburst Trout dip, Jalapeno Pimento cheese, and deli meats. Our cheeses consist of items such as triple cream bries, Aged Gouda, Parmigiano Reggiano, and a wide variety of local selections. We are a full service cheese counter, so how ever much you need we can cut it.

It all started back in 1999 when we began working out of a little red trailer serving bbq at local festivals, on the roadside, and for private parties.
Over the next eight years, we just kept growing and growing until we realized we needed something bigger than our little red trailer.

Back in September of 2006, Ole & Elena Delatorre along with their 3 sons, Abraham, Alfredo and Daniel started renovating and old building that would become the family business. After 5 months of hard work it opened its doors to the public and was successful from day one. Thanks to the people of Black Mountain and all the visitors the business grew and expanded to a larger location in the same vicinity. Hard work, team work and dedication paid off.

People love brunch. People love bakeries. So we did both. Located in the picturesque town of Black Mountain, NC. Open Oven Brunch and Bakery is serving up food made right. Benedicts topped with white wine rosemary hollandaise on homemade sourdough English muffins to sandwiches served on Artisan bread with a side of house cut fries. We do our best to provide antibiotic and hormone free meats, wild caught seafood, and baked goods using whole grain  flour. Wake up with coffee from Dynamite Roasting or turn it up a notch and try a mimosa! We have an outdoor patio for seasonal dining and offer carry out.
