Description: Rap’s Orchard Gap is one of the premeier food and entertainment destinations located adjacent to the Blue Ridge Parkway at MilePost 193.5 near Fancy Gap, Virginia. Our complex consists of a 1950’s and 60’s Style Renaissance Store, an old fashioned Ice Cream Shop, a full service Bar and Grill and an outdoor entertainment venue. We offer a good selection of travel accessories and an eclectic selection of gifts and souveniers. You can also grab your favorite beer and wine for take out. If you are hungry for a great homemade meal, you can dine at our full service Bar and Grill, which offers great appetizers, fresh salads, homemade sandwiches, fine dining entrees and a great selection of beer and wine. We offer “live” music for your dining and dancing pleasure on Saturdays and Sundays during the season at our outdoor entertainment venue. Grain is ground during occasional demonstrations, and stone-ground flour from a nearby restaurant and gift shop, is also sold. Drop in on the living history demonstrations offered in summer and early fall at the nearby blacksmith shop and Matthews Cabin. On early fall weekends, demonstrators make apple butter the old fashioned way – in a fire-heated kettle that gives a wonderful aroma. Old-time and bluegrass music fills the air on Sunday afternoons in summer and fall. Bring a lawn chair and, if the spirit moves you, join in flat-footing on the informally arranged dance boards. If you work up an appetite, the adjacent restaurant offers a good selection, and its buckwheat pancakes and country ham are legendary.
